6 Blog And Social Media Content Ideas For October For Your Small Business
Every month we send out a Creative Content Calendar for free - all you have to do is sign up for our mailing list. It has all the National Awareness Days and events that you could use as a springboard for your content on social media, blogging and pitching to the press. Want to know how to use these for your marketing? We wrote a blog called How to use national awareness days for your content creation which will help get you started.
Here are 6 ideas for content that you can use in October:
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH (all month):
Over the next 31 days why not share useful advice that can help your audience linked to your product or service? For example, if you're a freelance service provider such as a VA share tips for feeling overwhelmed, or being anxious about the future of business right now. If you sell clothing talk about body image. Remember, your content doesn't always have to be specifically about mental health but can be more about feeling better about yourself.
WORLD TEACHER'S DAY (5th)
Time to get personal by sharing the positive impact a specific teacher had on you that still is important today. Maybe someone that gave you advice or inspired you to start your business. Remember this teacher doesn't have to be from school; they can be someone that has taught you something recently.
NATIONAL FACE YOUR FEARS DAY (10th):
We all have things that scare us. Consider what fears your customers have linked to your product or service and create content that puts their minds at rest. For example, if you're a skincare brand, your customers may worry that your skincare will make their skin issues worse Show them how it works and how it can help in a social media post or blog. Or maybe you're a social media manager whose audience may worry about handing over their accounts to a stranger. Create a post that shares clearly how the process works or testimonials from others who felt the same at first.
WORLD MENOPAUSE DAY (18th):
Share a personal story about how menopause affects your day-to-day work and life (if that's where you're at!). If you have a team consider how menopause could affect them and ask yourself if you could introduce better ways of working to help. If you want to do this, maybe ask your audience how they feel at work to give you ideas for your new policy.
NAVY DAY (27th):
Create a post sharing anything navy that you sell. If you are a service provider maybe share an outfit in navy that you wear to work. Don't overthink it - just have some fun!
HALLOWEEN (31st):
Time to get spooky - maybe launch a Halloween giveaway or fun Trick or Treat game to win something. Alternatively, just start a conversation by asking your audience a question such as Do you join in with Halloween? Or share your Halloween outfit!
